The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has launched new teaching resources on data protection. These focus on privacy online and how students can protect their own data.
The resources include lesson plans and worksheets and cover primary and secondary schools. They explore what personal data is, why it’s valuable to commercial companies and other organisations, and how to keep it safe when online and using social media.
Over the coming months, the ICO will be adding to the resources with a set of lesson plans specifically related to the Children’s Code (Age-appropriate Design Code), which comes into force on the 2nd of September.
Resources are free to download and use. Access them here.
